Sex Drive (8/10)

After taking a chance with Role Models, I was skeptical with Sex Drive. But I took a chance anyway. And wow, I was very pleasantly surprised. I loved it.

Sure nothing is original as well. It’s been done time and time again. Very predictable. Very typical. But what really got me was the jokes and the acting. And two words, James Marsden. Now that I didn’t expect.

He was more Stifler than Stifler from American Pie. His character was someone that you would dislike but if the joke wasn’t on you, you’ll be laughing there right beside him. And that’s what the audience did. And he did it better than Sean William Scott.

There was a scene involving his foot and the garage door. That scene has become one of the top ten most hilarious moments in movies for me. What can I say, he was great.

And the rest of the cast, well, compared to Role Models, they were so much better. They were funny. Seth Green was funny. Katrina Bowden was funny. And these kinds of jokes, I get. They probably didn’t look that funny on paper too but the delivery was right on par. So here’s credit to director and writer Sean Anders.

And there was a nice twist towards the ending that I don’t think anybody expected. So that was nice.

Once in a while, a stupid, horny teen movie comes and brighten your day. This was one.
