But first of all, I just need to say, the very naturally funny T.J. Miller seems to be everywhere in 2010. I don't know if he can be any good starring in his own movie but I'd sure like to see him try. Now the last 3D movie I've watched before this was TRON: Legacy. Comparing them both in terms of 3D effects, Gulliver's is kicking some serious TRON butt on that front. TRON's 3D was just a pathetic excuse to charge more on ticket prices. Back to the review, the movie started a little slow and expected in the beginning. But once Gulliver reached Lillyput, everything started to become interesting. From the sight of how his hair was tied to the ground, childhood memories of the pictures in the storybook suddenly surfaced too. And there were some references to modern pop culture and older movies like Roxanne, which made those scenes fun to watch. Jason Segel's British accent was no good in this movie. He should have just stuck to speaking in American as it got distracting whenever the accent changed. And I didn't like how Amanda Peet's character and Gulliver came together so easily in the end but that's a necessary flaw for this movie in the big picture. But other than that, I thought the effects and the story were fine, and Jack Black still did it for me... this time. And of course he had to break into song and dance in the end, but that was fun too.
