The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo (8/10)

After watching the movie, I thought the book must be a fantastic read.

From The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button, to The Social Network, and now this; David Fincher is having quite the run.

Having never read the book, I have no idea how well this was adapted. But I could hardly find any flaw in this movie.

The take-off was a little slow and the movie ran a little too long for me, but those are the only complaints from me and they aren't all that bad.

There was a great cast for this movie. Daniel Craig was much better here than anything he's done recently (including playing James Bond). Robin Wright and Christopher Plummer were great additions. But I thought the one that stole the show was Stellan Skarsgard in the end.

Mara Rooney was the one that's a dilemma. No doubt she was great but I wondered if she could have gave a better portrayal. Sometimes I couldn't understand her facial expression or just found that she was lacking in it. But that could be also the reason why her character was always misunderstood and was a social outcast.

The story progressed very well. Fincher took his time with introducing the characters and building them up. Especially with Rooney's character, which wasn't easy as she was misunderstood but a genius.

There were parts that were raw when they had to be. There were parts that were violent when they had to be - that image of Skarsgard's broken jaw will forever be in my head. I thought this was just a very properly made film and the by-product was this very thrilling entertainment.
