However, I just felt that there wasn't enough of Iron Man. And I don't mean all those different Marks that filled the sky. A little over the top but it wasn't too bad. It's just that the middle part was too much about Tony Stark and some super-beings that was very irrelevant to what Iron Man was. They were just too generic.
And that leads me to the biggest issue I had with this movie.
Spoilers ahead in the next paragraph.
Here they introduced one of Marvel's or Iron Man's most evil of enemies, The Mandarin. And what did they do with him? Nothing. Sure the twist was fantastic and I do not deny it. But had they not use The Mandarin, that would have been better. They have just destroyed The Mandarin even before he started. I hope they do Iron Man 4 and bring back The Mandarin in all his glory and those rings.
Nevertheless, it was definitely a fun movie. Shane Black was a good addition and did well directing, and he's got a very good knack at inserting some self-deprecating humour on Tony Stark in place of coolness. I really appreciated it because it was a little liberating to see Stark not taking himself so seriously when he has to, and we not taking him too seriously too.
