In a recent report from Sony studio, their version of the Steve Jobs "non-biopic" - as clarified by writer Aaron Sorkin - has lost both actor and director as David Fincher has dropped out and so went his first choice, Christian Bale.
The studio has moved on ahead and is now looking to sign Danny Boyle and Leonardo DiCaprio.
I prefer David Fincher's work to Danny Boyle's but both are great directors nonetheless, so any of these two would peak my interest.
But now that DiCaprio's name has been suggested, I would totally see this as more of a fit, more than Bale. Again, keeping in mind both are great actors, any of these two would also peak my interest. Which was why I was excited at first to hear Bale will be portraying Jobs.
Now, even better if DiCaprio would take on this project. I can see him as Jobs much easier than Bale. In my mind, DiCaprio's physique is more naturally suited to be Jobs, but I can imagine him acting as Jobs already from what I saw what Ashton Kutcher did with the role.
So hopefully DiCaprio will say yes.
