Batman Vs Superman Official Title

(Picture sourced from Variety.com)
Variety has confirmed the title for the Man Of Steel sequel today.

And the title is... actually, the title isn't Man Of Steel. Man Of Steel has completely been dropped. Warner Bros. is going to go with Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice.

Set to be released on May 6, 2016, written by Chris Terrio and David S. Goyer, directed by Zack Snyder; and starring Ben Affleck as Batman, Henry Cavill as Superman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, Jeremy Irons as Alfred, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Diane Lane as Martha Kent, Laurence Fishburne as Perry White, and Ray Fisher as Cyborg.

Looking at this new title, my initial thought was if this isn't Man Of Steel sequel but a new DC installment altogether. It could be a one off or spin off from Man Of Steel. That would be cool.

But again, Dawn Of Justice definitely suggests that this is a lead-in to Justice League. So this movie will essentially be about two things: Batman duking it out with Superman, and also the two biggest names in DC, nay, in the superhero world forming (for the non-comic book fans) their version of the Avengers - which is Justice League.

Great to see this piece of news further cementing the arrival of the movie in 2016 after all the backlash it has been receiving over the past months.
