So it looks like Milla Jovovich is coming back for more. Well, maybe one last one, as the tentative title now is Resident Evil: The Final Chapter.
No release date is confirmed, not even a start of shoot date is confirmed as of now. But Paul W. S. Anderson is working on the script apparently for the last time.
The last two films, which was the first two of the second trilogy, starting with Afterlife and then Retribution; all opened in the month of September, 2010 and 2012 respectively. So it would be a good guess to say that The Final Chapter will be slated for the month of September as well. But which year? My guess now is 2016.
I've always been quite indifferent about this franchise. The last two movies were interesting enough, with weird looking monsters that looked mutated which I do enjoy, and nice action sequences.
I'm again indifferent about Jovovich in this role. I think she does it well but she really should move on and do other things, unless she just can't find any other work outside of this role - she hasn't done anything after Retribution.
So if the next one is really the last chapter, so be it.
