Avengers 2 Recruited Andy Serkis

The king of motion-capture, Andy Serkis, has confirmed his involvement in Avengers: Age Of Ultron. But how much involvement?

So far, he has been heavily involved with helping Mark Ruffalo "become" Hulk through the magic of motion-capture so that the next Hulk will be more "humanized".

Only good things can come out of this.

First, Ruffalo will benefit greatly from someone like Serkis who is second to none at what he does. The Gollum was the first big creation by Serkis back in Lord Of The Rings: The Fellowship Of The Ring. And the more recent and incredibly life-like Caeser in Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes saw Serkis gave a performance that some would argue for a new category in the Academy Awards! So to have the master come in to coach Ruffalo will definitely see a new Hulk smashing into the horizon.

That brings me to my second point. The Hulk was arguably the most favourite character back in The Avengers. And for him to get this special treatment, to be more life-like and real, will give fans something more to look forward to next year.

And if this works out great for Hulk, we might just get another stand alone movie in Phase 3 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

But this isn't the end of the news for Serkis because it was also just confirmed that he has an actual role in the upcoming sequel. But whether it's a motion-capture role or a onscreen acting gig, Serkis is keeping a tight lip on it, for now anyway.

And let us not forget, Serkis is a legitimate actor before he went into the mo-cap business. So either way, he will be able to deliver.

You can't not love this news. Serkis wasn't even offered a role in the beginning when he was brought in to help humanize Hulk, but he is such a humble person that he didn't mind it. For the love of the art, he has always sacrificed screen time for behind-the-screen works.

But the people over at Marvel must have loved him so much that he's now officially part of the Marvel family! Welcome onboard, Mr. Serkis.
