Marvel Blocks 5 Future Release Dates
Here's what Marvel means when they say they have a plan. And why DC is still playing catch-up.
Marvel has not confirmed any titles at this point (but may do so at next week's San Diego Comic-Con), and granted the dates may still change up to the discretion of Kevin Feige and team, but here's a quick run-down of what they have earmarked so far as of a couple of days ago.
The first 3 dates were already confirmed previously, and they are;
6 May 2016 (Captain America 3)
8 July 2016 (Doctor Strange?)
5 May 2017
And now Marvel Studios have blocked out the following dates;
28 July 2017
3 November 2017
6 July 2018
2 November 2018
3 May 2019
And not forgetting that these are only the ones under Marvel Studios. There are still other Marvel franchises under Sony (Spider-Man) and Fox (X-Men and Fantastic Four) to get us fans excited over.
Even so, I would have expected 3 films or more per year by Marvel Studios at the success rate they are performing at. Perhaps more dates will come later after the studios have a clearer idea of how well a property like Guardians Of The Galaxy will do, that could open up a lot more possibilities.
