The Imitation Game Won Toronto International Film Festival, Trailer

Three of the past six Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) winners of the audience's pick went on to win the coveted Academy Award for Best Picture, including Slumdog Millionair, The King's Speech and 12 Years A Slave.

And just last week, The Imitation Game starring Benedict Cumberbatch as the British code breaker, Alan Turing, has just won the TIFF award for 2014, cementing it as the front runner now for The Academy Awards.

The movie also stars Keira Knightley, Mark Strong and Matthew Goode; directed by Mortem Tyldum from a script by Graham Moore, adapted from the novel by Andrew Hodges.

I love this trailer below. That opening scene, and that performance by Cumberbatch, it's just haunting. This could be his breakout role that he so well deserves, a role that would be watched by millions (because not many people watch his brilliance in the British TV series Sherlock) and ultimately brings his status into the A-list category in Hollywood.

Cumberbatch is that good. He will win an Oscar, it's just a matter of when. He has been around for quite a while now, always playing the supporting role. But it is now that he deserves that big break. I have been championing him ever since I saw his electrifying performance in Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, and he was the one that made Star Trek: Into Darkness as engaging as that movie was.
