Avatar Sequel Postponed For A Whole Year
Straight from the horse's mouth, James Cameron has announced of the delay of Avatar 2 from December 2016 to December 2017. And the reason being the writing of the story.
The director admitted that while coming up with 3 sequels all at once, shooting them together to be released a year apart of each other, was more difficult than anticipated.
"We were probably a bit ambitious with [the film]. It took me 6 months to write the first and we're writing three altogether." And this includes creating all 3 movies' environment and creatures together.
Ambitious, yes. But if Cameron took 6 months to write the first one which ended up to be plot copies of other movies like Dances With Wolves, in my head I see a comedic scene where he's sitting at a table writing and pulling his hair out because he couldn't come up with a good story; so he finally gave up after 6 months and just copied off other movies plot points.
Here's hoping now with 12 months, he'll have something original and not finding more movies to copy off of.
