Lauded for his artistry, this is Michael Johnson's debut in direction and writing.
The trailer boasted, "Every shot is a feast for the eyes." Not quite the Terrence Malick but I'll give it the benefit of the doubt for now.
And I do love the background music used, it tends to invoke a lot of memories and emotions.
Starring a Danny DeVito that I didn't even realised was him until his name popped up; and a Kodi Smit-McPhee who's taking on a starring role ever since Let Me In, also last seen in Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes, it'll be interesting to see what he can do in this coming-of-age tale.
All The Wilderness opens in the US on 20 February 2015.
