Director Named For The Lego Movie Sequel

Warner Bros. have announced today that they have found their director to helm the sequel to The Lego Movie.

I was disappointed when news broke that Phil Lord and Christopher Miller will not be back to direct the sequel, however, they will still produce and write for the second movie.

And their choice of director is Rob Schrab who has made great comedy TV series like "Community" and "The Mindy Project", both of which I'm following and am a fan of. However, the risk is that Schrab has never directed a movie before so this will be his debut.

But we see studios now more and more are eyeing for newbies in directors. Lord and Miller didn't have much experience either when they did the first movie, same can be said for the Russo brothers when they did Captain America: The Winter Soldier - which far exceeded the first movie.

With great risks, there can be great reward. Let's hope Schrab will be the next big thing.
