Viola Davis Confirms Her Role In Suicide Squad
Back when Warner Bros. first announced the whole cast for Suicide Squad, back when Tom Hardy was actually still leading the Squad, there was still one character that wasn't confirmed. And that was the casting of Amanda Waller.
Back then, the studio was eyeing Oprah Winfrey, Octavia Spencer and Viola Davis. No confirmation has been given until yesterday when Davis herself in an interview almost coyly admitted her involvement in the movie.
And it also seems like Hardy's role of Rick Flagg has now been given to Robocop star Joel Kinnaman.
There has been plenty of rumours as to what happened with Hardy, one being that the more well-known Will Smith, who will play Deadshot, has build quite a bad reputation of a big ego and not wanting others to over-shadow him; leading to a possible re-write of Rick Flagg and Deadshot (the same reason why Smith himself turned down the role of Django in Django Unchained). But this is all speculation at this point.
Nevertheless, this movie is full steam ahead; and even Margot Robbie, who plays Harley Quinn and Smith's co-star in Focus which is out in cinemas now, has confirmed that she has been given a multiple movie deal to sign. Warner Bros. is definitely looking at a trilogy.
