Steve Carell and Emma Stone are set to play tennis players Bobby Riggs and Billie Jean King respectively in a historical event back in 1973, where Riggs taunted the female tennis players and eventually prompting King to accept the lucrative challenge.
The movie by Fox Searchlight will be directed by Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Faris, both of whom directed Little Miss Sunshine which won two Academy Awards. Simon Beaufoy, also an Academy Award winner for his Slumdog Millionaire script, has completed the writing duty for Battle Of The Sexes.
The movie will begin production soon and will be released somewhere in 2016.
