The new release date has been reported by Warner Bros. as 9 October 2015. No official reason was given but it's likely that the initial July date is going to be a tough competition ground, what with Paper Town, Pixels, Southpaw and The Vatican Diaries all opening on the same day.
The October date only has Danny Boyle's new Steve Jobs biopic to contend with, and it's away from all the summer blockbusters nipping away at its heels.
I haven't seen a lot of marketing for this movie - a prequel of sorts to the Peter Pan story that we're all familiar with, and so far I'm not that excited for it yet. So moving it away from summer could be a better money-making decision.
