Avengers: Infinity War To Be Filmed In IMAX, Confirms Writers

Avengers: Infinity War Parts I & II will be filmed back-to-back through a 9-month filming schedule. But the bigger news here is that these two movies are to be filmed completely in IMAX, marking the first time ever that a Hollywood feature film is done this way.

IMAX and ARRI's next generation revolutionary 2D digital camera, which is a joint customized digital version of ARRI's new large format camera, the Alexa 65 (not that I know what these are), will be used for shooting.

We already know that Anthony and Joe Russo will be directing both movies. This is what they have to say: "The intent with the Infinity War films is to bring ten years of accumulative storytelling to an incredible climax. We felt that the best way to exploit the scale and scope required the close out the final chapter of these three phases, was to be the first films shot entirely on the IMAX / ARRI digital camera."

In a related news, Marvel and Kevin Feige has also confirmed that the writers for Infinity War will be the same writers who are working on Captain America: Civil War, Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely. The duo were also responsible for Captain America: The First Avenger, Thor: The Dark World and Captain America: The Winter Solider.

The First Avenger storyline was alright for me, I really enjoyed The Dark World, but The Winter Soldier was a class of its own. Just from this track record alone, they are getting better and better with these Marvel properties.

Let's see how they do with Civil War and we'll definitely have a better idea of Infinity War.
