Captain America: Civil War Casts Martin Freeman
Direct from the horse's mouth, in the case of Marvel, it's Kevin Feige who said, "From his roles as Bilbo Baggins and Doctor Watson to Tim from 'The Office', Martin's range from the dramatic to the comedic has always impressed us. We couldn't be more honoured or more excited to have such a talented actor join the Marvel Cinematic Universe."
Martin Freeman has been the heart and soul of The Hobbit trilogy, which would have definitely been worse off had it not been for Freeman's portrayal in bringing exactly that, the dramatic and the comedic.
Needless to say, I'm a huge fan and could not be happeir to see Freeman join the MCU. Freeman is a huge talent and once again proves that Marvel can attract any kind of actor they want.
However, no word yet as to who Freeman will play. Definitely not a superbeing though. I just can't see that happening.
