According to CominSoon, Tom Hanks' Playtone has announced that Emma Watson has been cast in the leading role for their upcoming production of The Circle.
Watson will play opposite Hanks in the adaptation of Dave Egger's novel of the same name, and is adapted by James Ponsoldt; who will also direct.
Ponsoldt recently wrote and directed the hit movie The Spectacular Now, where he also worked with some of the brightest young talents of Hollywood like Miles Teller and Shailene Woodley, bringing out the best in them.
The novel dives into the perils of life in the digital age where personal data is collected and monetized, not to mention used as surveillance resulting in personal privacy becoming obsolete.
Production will begin this coming September after Watson has wrapped Disney's live-action adaptation of Beauty And The Beast.
No word yet release date for the movie but will be in 2016.
