What caught my attention about this movie was the fact that Kristen Wiig is in it, though not the main lead.
The movie stars Bel Powley and Alexander Skarsgard, about a girl discovering her sexuality and herself. This first trailer doesn't seem all that interesting except for Wiig who isn't playing a character to be funny, but more of a dramatic role.
I'm very impressed with her choices of roles so far as she's not just pigeon holing herself to comedies only. She's really stretching herself and pushing her own ceiling, and that's very respectable. And I really have to see The Skeleton Twins soon.
But not to take anything away from this movie, because it has won a few awards already in film festivals. So there must be something about it that I just haven't seen in this trailer.
Helmed by first-time director Marielle Heller from a script she herself adapted from Phoebe Gloeckner's novel, the movie will be out on 7 August 2015.
