When Kung Fu Panda 2 came out, it was 3 years after the original animated movie was released. But Kung Fu Panda 3 is going to be four and a half years after the first sequel. So now here's the real test, whether absence makes the heart grow fonder or out of sight and out of mind.
I enjoyed the first two movies, so I will still give the third one a chance. But I can't help but feel that it's run its course. Are we really still have vested interest in the franchise and its lovable character or are we now just riding on familiarity.
But seeing Jack Black's Po meeting his father for the first time, which is what this trailer is all about, is quite endearing and heart warming, and funny at the same time.
All the voice actors are back for this third movie, Black, Angelina Jolie, Jackie Chan, Seth Rogen, Lucy Liu, Dustin Hoffman; with newcomers to the franchise Bryan Cranston and Rebel Wilson.
Directed by Alessandro Carloni, who has worked on the animation for the first two movies, as well as Jennifer Yuh, who directed the first sequel; the movie will be out on 29 January 2016.
