London Has Fallen Delayed To Next Year
The upcoming sequel to the 2013 hit, Olympus Has Fallen; this time titled London Has Fallen (no prizes for guessing where it will all be happening), has been delayed.
Originally to be released later this year on 2 October 2015, the movie has now been shifted to 22 January 2016.
This could be due to 20th Century Fox's decision to shift The Martian up to the same date as London Has Fallen was planned for. But with its first trailer being so well received, The Martian may dominate the box office too much.
And since January and February traditionally used to be the dumping grounds for lousy movies, there is very little competition there. However, this seems to have changed recently as we've already seen American Sniper and Kingsman: The Secret Service do very well by opening in that bracket.
So if the movie is decent, it's easier to dominate in the first two months of the year. So maybe that's what London Has Fallen is aiming for.
With Babak Najafi taking over the reins from Antoine Fuqua who did the first movie, this sequel will bring back Gerard Butler, Aaron Eckhart, Melissa Leo, Angela Basssett and Morgan Freeman.
