A rarity for sure, Denzel Washington in a sequel. But The Equalizer was quite well received and also successful enough that Village Roadshow and Columbia Pictures has officially set a release date, 29 September 2017.
Although there hasn't been a confirmed report for Washington to reprise his role but this sequel would be silly without Washington returning.
No cast or director has been confirmed at this point but hopefully Antoine Fuqua returns to helm it once again.
Fuqua and Washington are currently busy filming The Magnificent Seven remake.
