Almost a year ago, The Lonely Island announced that they were going to make a movie. Things must be going smoothly for the trio that makes up the band, Andy Samberg, Jorma Taccone and Akiva Schaffer.
The still-untitled project will be directed by Taccone and Schaffer and will star all three of them. Judd Apatow is producing.
Samberg will lead the cast, playing a character named Conner, whose latest career setback forces his rapping to take a backseat while he reunites with his old boyband.
Universal Pictures has fixed a release date and it will be on the same day as the release of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2, which is 3 June 2016.
