Monopoly Movie Is On The Way To Go

Monopoly, a board game that is enjoyed by all ages, brings family members and friends together to the same table, and transcends cultures and borders. It has a reach of more than a billion people, and so of course someone needs to take advantage of it.

Enters Lionsgate, who will be teaming up with Hasbro's Allspark Pictures to co-produce and bring this board game to the silver screen.

How will it be done? No official word yet so we'll just have to wait and see. But Andrew Niccol has already been tasked to work on the screenplay.

Nicoll, an Academy Award-nominated writer for The Truman Show, also wrote The Terminal, In Time, Gattaca, and one of my favourites, Lord Of War. So with him onboard, this could actually turn out to be something good. Or could turn out to be a property trading movie.
