Strangely, the pull factor for me here isn't Ryan Reynolds (one of the more underrated actors, to me, because of bad movies that weren't his fault), but it's Ben Mendelsohn.
Mendelsohn has not been in my radar because he's always playing one of the bad guys and not the main antagonist. But I notice him because every time he's onscreen, he steals it.
And now that he's cast in the first Star Wars Anthology, Rogue One, his name carries more weight. Also, this is a role which I've never seen him in and that gets me excited - more so with Reynolds beside him.
The trailer looks really good and is cut in a typical fashion but does the job. I'm not sure what kind of release this will get as it may very well only be released in States side and go straight to VOD. Hopefully I'll remember to hunt this down when it's made available.
Also starring Sienna Miller, written and directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck who are known for their work in Half Nelson; Mississippi Grind will be released on 25 September 2015.
