From last year's Academy Award winning director for Birdman, Alejandro G. Innaritu, The Revenant is going to be Leonardo DiCaprio's first Academy Award win!
There, I said it. And just based on this first trailer alone, you can see I'm going to be right. Innaritu has a talent for bringing the best out of his cast like he did with Birdman's. Now, with a gifted talent like DiCaprio, coupled with a director that just keeps getting better and better, this movie is going to take everything to a whole new level.
This trailer is all about DiCaprio and Innaritu's signature shooting. The cinematography in every shot is so precise and beautiful, while DiCaprio's performance captures the tone of the movie and delivers it out of the screen.
Oscar buzz around this movie will be crazy. And DiCaprio's only other competition will be his co-star Tom Hardy for his double performance in Legend, so far.
Also starring Domhnall Gleeson and Will Poulter, The Revenant will be out at the end of the year.
