Edit: Michael Fassbender's character is a newly created one and not one that has been used in the games before.
A first image of Michael Fassbender in a similar garb from the video game Assassin's Creed has just been released by 20th Century Fox and New Regency, through Yahoo! His character name is Callum Lynch.
As a first official picture to show us the character, Fassbender looks great. This is one of the two movies that has fans hoping will finally change the rotten trend for video game adapted franchises. The other being Warcraft.
Filming will begin next week for a 21 December 2016 release date.
