Natalie Portman Directorial Debut And First Trailer

Natalie Portman has made a name of herself, big enough that she can now pursue some passion projects. And she's starting with a Hebrew language period drama, in which she stars, adapted the screenplay, and also making it her directorial debut. The triple threat combo.

A Tale Of Light And Darkness is based off a novel by Amos Oz and his memories of growing up in Jerusalem with his parents in the years before Israeli statehood. Portman plays Amos' mother.

Watching the first trailer, I did not expect such atmospheric and also beautiful scenes in Portman's direction so I was pleasantly surprised. The trailer has a very heavy tone and will most likely reflect the actual mood of the movie.
