Brie Larson To Take Over From Emma Stone In Battle Of The Sexes

According to Variety, it was reported that Emma Stone has opted out of Battle Of The Sexes in which she was supposed to star opposite Steve Carell.

The movie will tell the story of the highly publicised tennis match between an aging tennis pro Bobby Riggs against a younger Billie Jean King, in the first ever match between two sexes.

With a "scheduling conflict" as the main reason for Stone to bow out of this project, Brie Larson has been sought out to take over the role.

Larson has been red hot ever since her thriller Room has garnered rave reviews recently at the Toronto International Film Festival.

This true story of the tennis match is also being developed in two other studios. Match Maker will star Will Ferrell as Riggs, while Proof will star Paul Giamatti and Elizabeth Banks as Riggs and King respectively.

No word yet on a release date.
