The great Cate Blanchett has just been confirmed to star in an authorized biopic of the legendary Lucille Ball, as reported by The Wrap.
Ball was one of the first American sweethearts to have captured the hearts of the audience through her TV series "I Love Lucy" back in the 50's.
Blanchett seems like the perfect fit for this role, and with the talent that is so consistent throughout Blanchett's career, this could be her next big Oscar role.
The script will be written by another Oscar winner Aaron Sorkin. But no word as of right now on production or release date.
