Jake Gyllenhaal's Demolition First Trailer

Not much has been heard of Jean-Marc Vallee's new movie Demolition with Jake Gyllenhaal and Chris Cooper.

Vallee has been doing great work directing his actors to the best of their abilities.

It was Vallee that first cast Matthew McConaughey in a serious and dramatic role that earned him not only his first nomination but his first Oscar win as well last year. Which also sparked the term the McConnaisance. This year, Reese Witherspoon and Laura Dern both earned their second Oscar nominations with Wild.

But next year doesn't look like a golden statuette is in the sights for Demolition, seeing as it is being released for the Toronto International Film Festival last weekend and not really positioned for Oscar contentions. Maybe the movie just isn't Oscar worthy?

This trailer though, the first half looks very intriguing. The way the trailer sets up the plot in the first 30 seconds had my eyes glued to the screen. So well done, Fox Searchlight.

The official US release date is scheduled to be 8 April 2016.
