Kingsman 2 Solidifies With Release Date
Back in June, we found out that Matthew Vaughn was already in the midst of writing the script for the sequel to last February's runaway hit, Kingsman: The Secret Service.
Yesterday, 20th Century Fox cemented the possibility of the sequel even further by announcing a release date for it, which will be 16 June 2017.
A very suitable date as it's only a little more than two years from the original's release date. And this time positioning it as a summer blockbuster wouldn't hurt it since it has already established itself with the critical success and fan approval from the first one.
But if it had stayed in the month of February, there would be more chance for it to dominate the box office as February would still be a little quiet in terms of big movies opening in that month.
Still, it's not a bad idea to have it in the summer at all; solidifying it as a legit action flick amongst all the other big, bombastic popcorn movies as I'm sure it will fit right in.
No word yet, of course, if Colin Firth will be back.
