Marvel Wants Director Peyton Reed For Ant-Man Sequel

As the director that was put in place as the helmer for Ant-Man at the very last minute, Reed has knocked it out of the park. So much that, according to The Hollywood Reporter, Marvel Studios is looking to sign him back on for the sequel.

This goes to prove the point that Marvel has a very legitimate working formula to produce blockbusters. Kevin Feige and his team at Marvel Studios provide a strict framework in which the director has to work within (also a reason why Edgar Wright, who was supposed to direct Ant-Man, left the project to make way for Reed). And at this point in time, that framework is producing hit after hit; doesn't matter who the director is.

Titled Ant-Man And The Wasp, the movie is scheduled for a 6 July 2018 release date. And the studios are now in negotiations with Reed for him to come back and direct the sequel.

If successful, Reed will join the Russo Brothers, Joss Whedon and James Gunn as the only directors to be directing more than one Marvel movie back-to-back.
