I'm very surprised by the potential and quality this movie has from its first trailer that was just released by Universal Pictures today.
The Huntsman Winter's War boasts beautiful CGI and a great cast. Just from the A-list names alone, I'm wondering how could this movie have been spawned from the first movie that lacked much of everything.
My only and small problem with what I'm seeing now is Chris Hemsworth being too Thor onscreen. The way he throws an axe is exactly the way Thor would throw his hammer. There was one shot he posed in the middle of a battlefield with Jessica Chastain, is almost exactly like in Thor: The Dark World where he did a similar pose but with Sif by his side.
But I'm more excited for the two evil queens, both beautiful in their own right and really command the screen. Emily Blunt's ice powers remind me of X-Men's Iceman's, and that final shot of Charlize Theron catching the arrow - she's breathtaking.
The background music also suits the trailer's tone very well. I have become very excited to see this movie now when it's out on 22 April 2016.
