After the news of Ralph Fiennes being cast as Alfred Pennyworth for the upcoming The LEGO Batman Movie, I realised that the release dates for these Lego properties have shifted.
So I did a little bit of digging and found that Warner Bros. have shifted the LEGO movies around.
Initially, LEGO's Ninjago was supposed to come out in 23 September 2016 as the first spin-off movie. But it's been delayed a full year, making The LEGO Batman Movie as the first spin-off - which I would contend as a better decision since Batman is a bigger name than Ninjago. Despite the quality, it will still build on the Lego brand name in the cinemas.
There's also another spin-off being developed by Jason Segel, who will co-write with Drew Pearce and will also direct it. No details of this movie as of now but it will be under LEGO even though there isn't the word LEGO in the title.
So now, the new LEGO slate looks like this.
