There has been a little bit of movement in the Top Gun 2 front as Val Kilmer just confirmed he has been offered to join the long-gestating sequel a few days ago.
Kilmer took to his Facebook account to make the announcement and express his excitement to work with Tom Cruise and producer Jerry Bruckheimer; while also commented on the recent passing of director, Tony Scott who was in favour of coming back to direct the sequel.
With this news I believe a director will be confirmed next as they already have a script to work with - the most recent draft was written by Justin Marks, who also wrote the upcoming The Jungle Book.
Hopefully we'll get to see this sequel in the next couple of years.
