Ewan McGregor And Original Cast Returns For Trainspotting 2
Trainspotting was one of the most out of this world and wacky movies of its time, directed by Danny Boyle and released to critical acclaim back in 1996.
Today, TriStar Pictures has announced that it has bought over the rights to the sequel, which is still without an official title.
However, the main cast of Ewan McGregor, Johnny Lee Miller, Robert Carlyle and Ewen Bremner will reprise their roles. Boyle will return to direct and John Hodge will return to write.
Filming is set for next year with a release date to celebrate its 21st birthday in 2017.
Trainspotting is actually one that I wouldn't mind a sequel to revisit that world and see what the characters are up to today, 20 years later. I have to admit I don't quite remember the whole plot now because the last time I watched it was 1996. But that iconic scene with McGregor climbing out of a toilet bowl is forever etched in my mind.
