I've known Steven Spielberg was adapting Roald Dahl's The BFG but this teaser trailer released by Walt Disney Pictures caught me by surprise. I didn't realise it's almost done.
Since it's just a teaser, it felt longer than the usual teaser flair. It's almost like witnessing the actual introduction to the movie itself.
We got to meet the young girl played by Ruby Barnhill, who encounters the BFG (I know it's easy to go another route so just to be clear, it stands for Big Friendly Giant) and then taken off to an adventure.
And I'm curious to see what the CGI has done for this movie, particularly the BFG of course.
The rest of the cast which includes Rebecca Hall, Bill Hader and Mark Rylance (who just worked with Spielberg on Bridge Of Spies); are not featured in this teaser - except for the shadow of Rylance's character, which is the BFG.
The movie is set to open on 1 July 2016.
