The Boy just came to my attention earlier this week, and its second trailer just came out two days ago from STX Entertainment; which is three days before the actual movie is released.
How I got to know about it was hearing it on a movie talk show and thinking that the premise is so scary and freaky that it should be worth checking out.
The second trailer was less than a minute long and didn't do much for me. So I checked the first trailer, which showed a lot more but still didn't quite capture my interest.
I'm not sure if I'll watch the movie yet, as it doesn't really give me any confidence at this point and also being a January movie. That's never a good sign.
So far, it looks like there will be a lot of loud scares and not actual story-building tension scares. Everything about it in the trailers look quite weak.
But check out the first trailer below and maybe you might find something I didn't. The movie will be out tomorrow, 22 January 2016; but we here in Brunei will have to wait longer, or maybe it's not even coming.
