Watch The Raid's Gareth Evans' Samurai Short

Gareth Evans, director and the mind behind The Raid series, has just put out a short on his YouTube page. And it looks absolutely beautiful.

Titled Pre Vis Action (no idea what that means yet), every scene carefully selected, every shot beautifully crafted, for five minutes you won't be able to take your eyes off the screen.

Evans shows that he knows his samurai stuff from the black and white era, a lot of the scenes, the movements and the camera action pay homage to the old films while infused with modern sensibilities.

And you'll notice the familiar faces from The Raid series in this short too. But where this short stands differently is that there is zero violence or blood in this one, yet Evans' direction is still completely captivating. Not to mention the slick fight choreography.

Is this Evans' next project? If so, I can't wait. Because even in this short five minutes, we learned there is a plot and it can lead to a bigger storyline.
