Sony's Sonic The Hedgehog Movie For 2018

Back in June of 2014, Sony Pictures has announced a Sonic The Hedgehog movie but with no confirmed date of release. And nothing has been heard of the project ever since. Until today.

SEGA CEO Hajime Satomi in an interview reported by io9 has confirmed that a live-action hybrid movie will be coming some time in the year 2018.

Again, what's worrying is the hybrid part. Think Smurfs, and how that movie - though made a lot of money to warrant a sequel - was not something that we would remember fondly.

Sonic is the mascot for SEGA so hopefully the property will be given a proper treatment.
