Colin Firth's Genius First Trailer

A story about editor, Max Perkins, for some of America's greatest authors like Thomas Wolfe, F. Scott Fitzgerald and Ernest Hemingway; and based off of the biography by A. Scott Berg.

I'm actually quite surprised that this movie, which looked beautiful in the trailer, is directed by a complete newcomer Michael Grandage; who is an actor in the first half of his life.

And the movie boasts the immense talents of Colin Firth, Jude Law, Nicole Kidman and Laura Linney.

But this is a very horribly cut trailer in the sense that it looks like a mini version of the entire movie, in chronological order. And you can tell that even the dialogue exchange are a mix and match from different parts of the movie.

I still cannot understand why trailers need to show the audience almost the entire plot these days. And why they are still happening today. It feels like this is potentially spoiling the movie for me.

Genius will be out on 29 July 2016 - another surprise that it's not coming out in the award season because it looks like it should.
