Another piece of casting news for Universal Pictures' upcoming reboot of The Mummy.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Jake Johnson (who recently appeared in Jurassic World) is in talks to join the cast; which already has Sofia Boutella playing the titular character, and Tom Cruise leading the cast by playing an ex-special forces soldier.
Yesterday we also found out that Annabelle Wallis is also in talks to board the movie as the female lead and love interest to Cruise's character.
Johnson's role, reported to have been written specifically for him, will see him play a military person; and I would expect him to be the comic relief once again.
The movie is being directed by Alex Kurtzman for a 9 June 2017 release date.
