It's as if the the first trailer of the new Ghostbusters reboot that was released less than a week ago was intentionally bad so that we would love this new one immediately.
This international trailer that was cut over the last few days, no doubt over the backlash from the internet; and personally I didn't get the Ghostbusters feel at all. To me it was just another Paul Feig comedy with ghosts in it and not really a Ghostbusters movie.
But this trailer looks much better than the first one - not because it felt more like a Ghostbusters movie - but it had a better introduction to the characters and this world that we're about to step into.
Even the horrible opening with the text "30 years ago", which didn't make sense as Sony has made this a reboot (which I still feel it shouldn't be), feels and reads better now with a few minor tweaks.
Not to mention (and it was one of my complaints on the first one) we finally get to see Chris Hemsworth in action. His character is everything that I had hoped for and more. All his scenes looked really good and he may end up stealing the movie.
Hopefully the movie will give us that same old feeling when we hear the words, "Who you gonna call?" The only thing I'm worried about now is that Sony got so desperate with the first trailer that they have dumped all the best bits into this international trailer.
Ghostbusters will be out on 15 July 2016.
