Dwayne Johnson To Headline Robert Ludlum's The Janson Directive

I remember when I first started blogging about Dwayne Johnson's movie news that I had to put in "The Rock" in this name because that's how he was recognized at the time. But now, he has become a household name and it's well deserved.

Today, The Hollywood Reporter has reported that Johnson will launch a new franchise from Robert Ludlum's books starting with The Janson Directive.

Ludlum is also the author for the Jason Bourne books. And now Universal Pictures is looking to create a Robert Ludlum cinematic universe, which means that maybe we'll see more of Matt Damon as Bourne.

James Vanderbilt, who was responsible for The Amazing Spider-Man, will work on a rewrite of the adapted script by Akiva Goldsman.

No word yet on a release date.
