Brie Larson In Talks To Play Marvel's Captain Marvel

A report from Variety has surfaced today that Marvel Studios and Walt Disney Pictures are talking to this year's Academy Award winner, Brie Larson, to star in the 2019's Captain Marvel - the first female standalone movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The report shared that Larson is Marvel's first choice for the role, and the actress herself is "leaning toward playing the part".

At this point, I doubt any actor any where in the world would lean away from a Marvel project. But we have seen talents such as Joaquin Phoenix turn down a leading role before due to the number of years Marvel wants to tie them down to. Not to mention all the press tours they are contracted to do.

The plan for Captain Marvel by Marvel Studios' President Kevin Feige is to introduce her in Avengers: Infinity War Part 1 in 2018 before her own solo outing.

Let's just wait for the official word now. No director has been announced but the movie is slated for 8 March 2019.
