For Underworld Blood Wars to be given the January slot? That's no surprise. What was more surprising was the fact that it actually was supposed to come out on 14 October 2016.
Let's face it, Screen Gems and Lakeshore Entertainment aren't expecting great things from this sequel. I don't think anybody cares about this franchise anymore and them making it, if for cheap, is just to earn some dough.
For this movie to come out in January makes more sense because then, being a known franchise, it could dominate that first couple of weeks and earn back its cost.
Directed by Anna Foerster, who was the cinematographer for big budget movies like Independence Day, The Day After Tomorrow and White House Down, the sequel will be out on 6 January 2017.
