Screen Gems has released the first US and international trailers and posters to their supposed final movie of the Resident Evil series, subtitled The Final Chapter. (Eight years later it will probably be rebooted.)
The US poster shows a more prominent Milla Jovovich, front and centre with the Resident Evil logo behind her. Whereas the international one has Jovovich in a more subtle light, but no logo. I do prefer the international one but I think the logo should be as obvious as the American version.
As for the trailers, I don't like how the international one started with a mash-up of the previous films, but I like the dark and sombre tone very much. For the US version, I don't like how the trailer starts with a Guns N' Roses song but this is a more superior cut of a trailer. And by the end of it, I even like the song playing in the background.
But these movies are never good, and I don't know why but every time a new one comes along I'd still go and watch it. So this one will be no different. From a completist point of view, let's see it till the end.
And one bright spark here could be "Game Of Thrones" star Iain Glen as the antagonist. He's something I would look forward to.
The movie will be out on 27 January 2017.
