New Mutants could very well be the next X-Men movie, what with Gambit now stuck in limbo. The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that New Mutants director Josh Boone is re-teaming with his writers from The Fault In Our Stars.
Scott Neustadter and Michael H. Weber will rework a script that Boone previously drafted with Knate Gwaltney. And we'll have to wait for more confirmation as to which characters from the rich source material will make up the final members for the silver screen.
Previous reports also cited that Anya Taylor-Joy and Maisie Williams will play Magik and Wolfsbane respectively though no confirmations have been given by the studio. Alexandra Shipp's Storm from X-Men: Apocalypse is supposed to have a major role as well.
No release date has been set though I'm guessing it's the earmarked date of 29 June 2018.
